Pediatric Walk-In Clinic: Making the right decision

The pediatric walk-in clinic is NOT intended to be a substitute for an emergency room. In a true emergency, dial 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

The pediatric walk-in clinic is NOT intended to treat chronic conditions (asthma, ADHD, constipation) or serious medical conditions. Have your child see their primary care provider in those cases.

Go to the Medcenter One Emergency and Trauma Center if your child has:

  • Severe shortness of breath
  • Severe cuts
  • Severe burns
  • Head injuries with a loss of consciousness
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Suspected abuse
  • Threat of suicide
  • Severe and unusual headache
  • Seizures
  • Bleeding that does not stop
  • Drug overdose
  • Poisoning
  • Life-threatening injuries
  • Severe allergic reactions


Go to the Medcenter One Pediatric Walk-In Clinic if your child has:

  • Sore throats
  • Earaches
  • Cold and flu symptoms
  • Fever
  • Sinus infections
  • Sprains and strains
  • Minor cuts
  • Minor burns
  • Stomachaches—new onset or sudden
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Possible bladder infection
  • Pinkeye
  • Stings, bites or poison ivy
  • Respiratory infections
  • Rashes and recent skin infections


Medcenter One Q&R Clinic Pediatrics recommends your child sees their primary care provider (PCP) for:

  • ADHD
  • Depression
  • Constipation or chronic abdominal pain
  • History and physicals (H&P)
  • Sports physicals
  • Well checks
  • Behavior concerns
  • Wart treatments
  • Vaccinations
  • Chronic headaches

Driving directions eastbound on I-94:

  • Take the US-83 N. Exit—Exit 159—toward Bismarck/Minot
  • Turn right onto State St.—continue south
  • Turn left onto N. 7th St.—continue south
  • For free valet parking turn right at Thayer Ave. into the Medcenter One loop, or to park your own car continue south
  • Turn right onto Broadway Ave., parking lot Parking Q will be on your right

Driving directions westbound on I-94:

  • Take the US-83 N. Exit—Exit 159—toward Bismarck/Minot
  • Turn left onto State St.—continue south
  • Turn left onto N. 7th St.

Parking

Medcenter One offers free valet parking 7:30 a.m.—5 p.m. Monday—Friday. Drive into the loop in front of Medcenter One’s main entrance on Seventh Street to utilize this convenient service. Click here for more information.

 

If you prefer to park your car, parking lot K is located on the south side of the Medcenter One Q&R Clinic building. The entrance to the parking lot is on Broadway Avenue.
