Medcenter One launched the Shapedown Program in an effort to combat childhood obesity. The family-based behavior modification program addresses the food, activity, psychosocial and family system issues that frequently underlie weight or eating problems.

The program is led by a team of professionals including dietitians, a recreational therapist and a physical therapist. A pediatrician and two psychologists will also provide support for the program. Shapedown has a proven track record with 20 years of experience and is currently used by hundreds of hospitals and thousands of private practice physicians.
