Medcenter One providers receive diabetes care awards
BISMARCK, N.D.—There were 14 Medcenter One healthcare providers selected to receive North Dakota Diabetes Care Provider Awards. Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota, in cooperation with the North Dakota Department of Health Diabetes Prevention and Control Program, sponsors the annual awards given each spring.
The North Dakota Diabetes Care Provider Achievement Award winners include Dr. Patricia Anderson and Nurse Practitioner Rhonda Schmidt, Medcenter One Dickinson Clinic; Drs. Tonia Hoggarth and David Mathison, Medcenter One Jamestown Clinic; Dr. Dale Klein, Mandan Family Clinic North; Drs. Gerry Lunn and Tony Tello, Medcenter One Q&R Clinic; Nurse Practitioner Dawn Meier, Medcenter One Diabetes Care Center; Dr. Stuart Smith, Bismarck Family Clinic South; and Dr. Thomas Thorson, Mandan Family Clinic East.
The North Dakota Diabetes Care Pediatric Provider Award winners include Nurse Practitioner Patricia Hermanson, Medcenter One Diabetes Care Center; and Drs. Parag Kumar, Stephen McDonough and Todd Twogood, Medcenter One Q&R Clinic.
The awards are based on American Diabetes Association guidelines.
Medcenter One is a non-profit, integrated health system that consists of a 232-bed hospital, a multi-specialty clinic, a college of nursing, six primary care clinics, three kidney dialysis centers and four long-term care facilities in western and central North Dakota. Key accreditations and quality awards include: Joint Commission, American College of Surgeons Level II Emergency and Trauma Center, Magnet Recognition Program® and 100 Top Hospitals® for cardiovascular care by Thomson Reuters in 2009.
