Bear
is Medcenter One's very special friend. Meddy Bear is
always more than happy to visit with children and Meddy
Bear is at Medcenter One for a couple of important reasons.
As
a patient, your child will receive a 12-inch stuffed
replica of Meddy Bear and the Medcenter One staff communicates
with your child about medical experiences by using Meddy
Bear as a third person.
When
your child is prescribed a special procedure, we use
Meddy Bear to teach and show your child what will be
done. This allows your child visibility and familiarizes
him or her with equipment used in the procedure. That
way, Meddy Bear and your child are going through the
process together.
If
your child is scheduled for surgery, Meddy Bear goes
to surgery, too. Afterwards, his bandages will match
your child's bandages. In fact, your child may even
be surprised by the real Meddy Bear himself!
