Medtronic AneuRx Stent Graft System

An aneurysm is a bulging section in the wall of a blood vessel that has become stretched out and thin. An aortic aneurysm is a bulge in the aorta, the large blood vessel that carries blood from the heart to the rest of the body. If an aneurysm ruptures, it usually results in death if not treated immediately.

Aortic aneurysms rarely produce symptoms and are usually found during exams done for other reasons. Men and women age 50 and over should be screened annually.
